The spectacular world of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC) has been thrilling fans year-on-year with wheel-to-wheel action across Europe.
The FIA ETRC events are organised over two days and made up of four “Championship” races at each event.
Day 1:
- 2 free practice sessions of 20 minutes (these sessions may be held the day before if necessary, in which case a 15-minute warm-up session will be organised at the beginning of the following day)
- 1 qualifying practice session of 20 minutes (Q1) for all the trucks
- 1 qualifying practice session of 10 minutes, called “Super Pole”, for the 10 trucks that set the best times during Q1
- 2 championship races of 45km +/- 1 lap (Race 1 and 2)
Day 2:
- 1 warm up of 15 minutes
- 1 qualifying practice session of 20 minutes (Q2)
- 1 qualifying practice session of 10 minutes, called “Super Pole”, for the 10 trucks that set the best times during Q2 and which will serve to determine the first 10 positions on the starting grid for Race 3
- 2 championship races of 45km +/- 1 lap (Race 3 and 4)
The Series
8 rounds of the FIA ETRC in 2018 with each of these rounds retaining its regional name (f. e. Internationaler ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix)
The Grid
The Grid for Race 1 will be set in Qualifying of Day 1. The Grid for Race 2 will be determined by the finishing order of Race 1 (with the top 8 in reverse order). The Grid for Race 3 will be set in Qualifying of Day 2. The Grid for Race 4 will be determined by the finishing order of Race 3 (with the top 8 in reverse order). Those trucks not finishing Race 1 / Race 3 to be placed at the back on the grid of Race 2 / Race 4 according to: 1) the greatest distance covered and 2) the best lap time.
The Points
In each Race 1 / Race 3, points for all titles will be awarded to each driver and team properly entered with the FIA (Article 6 of the present regulations) at each Competition according to the following scale:

Die The Drivers' Championship
There are 2 types of competitor in the FIA ETRC Drivers’ Championship:
- Season entrants – these are the drivers who expect to appear at all 8 rounds of the championship. In 2018 the season entrants are Norbert Kiss, Adam Lacko, Jochen Hahn, René Reinert, Steffi Halm, Sascha Lenz, André Kurism
- Race-by-Race entrants – fans will see some of the race-by-race competitors at a number of rounds of the FIA ETRC, so drivers can feature quite high up in the Drivers’ Championship. Other race-by-race entrants just do one or two rounds, usually in their native countries.
Die The Team Championship
The FIA ETRC also has a Team Championship, with each entrant consisting of 2 drivers. So teams that only have 1 season entrant can become partners to enter the Teams Championship. 2018 had the following entrants list:
