Following the strategic alliance between Renault and Nissan in 1999, the French manufacturer Renault, founded in 1898, is now one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world. With the Kangoo Rapid, Trafic and Master series, the French have known long-standing success in the manufacture of vehicles in the van segment.
A classic redesigned: the Renault Trafic.
Since its market launch in 2014, the new Trafic from Renault is available as a panel van with single or double cab, platform cab and the Combi passenger variant. The new design of the van is available with two wheelbases, 3,098 and 3,498 millimetres, also in two lengths. In addition to the basic loading space height of 1.4 metres, a high-roof version has been available since spring 2015 with a freight space height of 1.9 metres. The loading volume of the panel van is between 5.2 and 8.6 cubic metres, which is 300 litres more than its predecessors. For the Trafic there are a total of four newly developed 1.6-litre turbo diesel engines to choose from, with powers ranging between 66 and 103 kW (90-140 PS).
The revised Master range, which was launched on the market in late summer 2014, is available in three wheelbases ranging between 3.18 and 4.33 metres, also four lengths ranging between 5.05 and 6.85 metres. The large van comes in three different wheelbases of between 3.18 and 4.33 metres and four different lengths. There are three loading space heights ranging up to 2.14 metres. This results in loading volumes between 8 and 17 cubic metres and up to 2.25 tonnes of useful load. The Master box van, with a power of 81 kW to 121 kW (110 to 165 PS), offers a loading capacity of up to 22 cubic metres.
Compact family: Renault Kangoo Rapid
The Kangoo Rapid Compact and the Kangoo Rapid Maxi are a smaller and bigger brother to the compact van Kangoo Rapid. The three wheelbases and three loading lengths up to 2,115 millimetres give a loading space of 2.3 to 4.0 cubic metres, which can take loads of between 458 and 766 kilograms. For the Kangoo Rapid, Renault offers one electric, one petrol and five diesel versions with powers up to 81 kW (110 PS).
