Remanufacturing - Recycling on a new level

Remanufacturing explained: How remanufacturing works

Remanufacturing is a way of refurbishing used products or components. The advantage of remanufacturing is that - compared with the production of new parts - it saves both raw materials and energy and thus uses fewer resources. In contrast to a recycling process, in which only part of the materials are recovered, remanufacturing recovers the majority of the machine-produced materials.

During the process, the quality of the individual components is repeatedly checked and ensured by a final inspection after assembly. The aim is to restore - or even exceed - the performance and quality level of the remanufactured product.

Products suitable for remanufacturing include:

  • Air conditioning elements
  • Compressors
  • Electric motors
  • Pumps
  • Vehicle parts

Here's how remanufacturing differs from upgrading, refurbishment, and maintenance

Remanufacturing is the industrial reprocessing of old parts. In this process, the individual parts are taken apart, cleaned and inspected, refurbished, and finally reassembled into a product that is as good as new. This procedure differs from upgrading, refurbishment and maintenance:

  • Upgrading is used to modernize or optimize a function, performance or safety of the initial product.
  • Refurbishment is the reconditioning of a used product and usually results in a lower quality level.
  • Maintenance or repair of a defective product returns it to its target condition.

Our partner: rema.germany - 100 % made in EU

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our remanufacturing partner: With rema.germany we have found a reliable partner that lives sustainability in all its facets in its daily business and rethinks the term Circular Economy. This approach is the basis for a unique remanufacturing concept.
