The masterminds
Founded over 110 years ago and now a global market leader based in Munich: Knorr-Bremse has always pursued the goal of making rail and road mobility safe, sustainable and environmentally friendly. Today, 30,000 employees at over 100 sites in more than 30 countries are committed to achieving these goals - with great success: Knorr-Bremse generates annual sales of around EUR 6.7 billion. Even in the difficult year 2022, Knorr-Bremse was able to further increase its sales.
In the Commercial Vehicle Systems division, Knorr-Bremse is the world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for trucks, buses, trailers and agricultural machinery. Knorr-Bremse is also a leader in chassis systems for electronic control, as well as driver assistance systems and air treatment in commercial vehicles. In the commercial vehicle sector, the Group is also active in other product areas such as steering systems, powertrain systems and torsional vibration dampers for diesel engines.
A long cooperation
With such a compelling product portfolio, it's clear that we at EUROPART have been cooperating with Knorr-Bremse for a long time: Since the early 1990s, we have been working together to ensure that your commercial vehicles always come to a reliable halt. Last year we were even allowed to visit the remanufacturing plant in Liberec, Czech Republic, from where we were able to bring back some valuable impressions and insights.
But we are not just pleased about a shared past - the future also looks bright: Knorr-Bremse sees itself as a technological pacemaker for braking systems in the commercial vehicle sector and is continuously working on the development of new, state-of-the-art braking and onboard systems. In doing so, the Group is no more oblivious to the environment than we are: Knorr-Bremse sites have been CO2-neutral since as early as 2021. Between 2018 and 2021, Knorr-Bremse was already able to cut its CO2 emissions by more than 73 percent. The Knorr-Bremse climate strategy also aims to halve the Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions of all Knorr-Bremse sites by 2030. We say: Keep it up!

Under the name EconX, Knorr-Bremse offers industrially reconditioned remanufacuring products for trucks, buses and trailers that enable commercial vehicles to remain on the road safely for a long time to come.
EconX products are indistinguishable from the original part in terms of performance and functionality, but are more economical and save valuable resources. Of course, the industrial reconditioning of safety-relevant spare parts is a question of trust - and Knorr-Bremse answers this question confidently: More than 60 years of experience in industrial remanufacturing and a conscientious testing process ensure that only flawless old parts are remanufactured into high-performance Reman parts.
By the way, even the old Knorr-Bremse parts you return to us are sent back to Knorr-Bremse for remanufacturing. We wanted to take a closer look at how this process works. That's why we visited the remanufacturing plant in Liberec, Czech Republic, in 2022 and brought you our impressions in video form.
